I got an email from a friend yesterday that had these pictures in it… I think they are beautiful! And what a beautiful story they tell…

I have no idea who these images belong to, who painted them, where they came from, or any of that information.
a day in the life of me…
I can honestly say… I haven’t had much to say lately. Yeah, I know. That’s sort of hard to miss huh? hehe One thing I will say… it’s COLD outside! Cold I say! I think the state of Mississippi has forgotten its located in the south. Honestly. Right now, at 11 am, it is 35 degrees. Last night it was a whopping 18 degrees… and I have the busted water pipes to prove it! haha On the up side… I get to spend half some extra time with the hubster; because he has to come home from work to fix those busted pipes. And, since the water had to be turned off, I don’t have to do laundry or dishes until the pipes are fixed. That I can totally smile about.
And on another good note… the eighteen year old is doing much better. There’s till massive arguing between the teens going on in the house (which has led to my going bald!) but he is doing so much better. God truly answers prayers and is ALWAYS in control! Praise Him!
And on a not so good note… I have, literally, been suffering from writer’s block or either my brain is on vacation, or both. I have sat in front of my compy staring at this same screen for days with… … … nothing. Just nothing. I think it may have something to do with the busyness of this time of the year, and the fact that I’ve been under the weather since Sunday, and probably a million other things.
So I hope you have a fabulous week, what’s left of it. And I hope what has gone by has been just as fabulous!
I’ve been kinda quiet on the blogging front lately. It’s a busy time of the year, with holidays and kids and all the things we have going on at church. We’re getting ready for the Christmas cantata and practicing pretty regularly; and when we’re not a cantata practice, we’re at the children’s program practice. Those are fewer, but on Friday nights. Our weekends are full-up with things right now. Weekdays… well those are pretty busy too.
In all the busyness, I did remember to order our Christmas cards from Shutterfly. I can. not. wait. for them to come in. This is my first time ordering from Shutterfly so I’m hopeful they’ll turn out exactly the way they looked on the site. (I feel very sure they will.) This year, we also ordered individual cards for Nay and his girlfriend. We made theirs from one of the photos I took at Thanksgiving, and the card she picked was perfect with the black and white photo. I can’t wait to see those too! According to the estimate, they should all be in sometime next week. That’s faster than I expected!
So, I may not be around much the rest of the week… or the rest of the month for that matter. I’ve been having gall bladder issues (again) since yesterday morning on top of a headache that doesn’t want to end. Needless to say, I haven’t been in the mood to do much of anything, especially write anything meaningful. (Can’t you tell by the mumbo jumbo in this post?! lol)
Ok, well… I suppose that’s about it. I’m drawing a complete blank so this will have to be it. Plus, hubs is about to head off to dream land and my heavy eyelids are telling me I should too.
I hope you’ve all had a wonderful Monday, and stay toasty warm. It’s cold here, really really cold. But I do enjoy warming my icy feet on the hubster! What? You know you do it too!
P.S. I’m too lazy to proofread so be kind and ignore the mistakes. Or correct them in your mind, or the comments. Either way. It’s all good. ‘Night night… that’s all folks.
I don’t usually do things like this, but… I have a new love. I do. It’s true. I met someone last week; someone really awesome; someone who I’ve seen everyday since; someone who I plan to see many more times the future. “Who,” you ask?
Friend, meet my new love… Shutterfly.
Had ya going didn’t I? No? Really? Well poo.
Seriously though… I did discover Shutterfly last week, and I am totally in love. I have spent a couple days going through all the awesome Christmas cards and, well, I just can’t seem to decide on just one. Dilemma! So tell me what you think… I really like the icy blue and black of this one (#1), and the style too…

And then there’s this one (#2) that is really so pretty and conveys the message we’d like to send this Christmas…

But then there’s this one (#3) that is back to that icy blue and black that I really do like…

But… there’s more. This one (#4) is so simple but so pretty…

and this one (#5) is so fun and pretty at the same time…

Originally, I planned for the family photo to be in black and white– I just love the timeless look of black and white– but now I’m not sure! Decisions decisions!
One decision that has been really easy to make… photo books. I am so in love with this idea, I can’t even tell you how much! Since my kids are getting older– I do have one on his second year of college now– I was thinking about how awesome it would be to have a book made for each of the five kids, starting from birth through each year to the present. Like a baby book on steroids!
Annnndd… I think this awesome calendar would make a fantastic gift for a few special grandparents in our lives.

I just love that you can do personalized dates! I think my mom would be thrilled to get a personalized calendar filled with pictures of the kids! And, it’d be a keepsake too!
Okay, so back to my dilemma. Christmas cards. Of the five I’ve picked, which one gets your vote? I’d really like to stick with a black and white family photo (again, love the black and whites) and I think each card, with the exception of the #2, could really look great with the b&w photo. For #2 I’d definitely go with a color photo. So, which one, out of those five, is your favorite? And, which one, from all the choices at Shutterfly, would you choose for your own family? I’m so curious!!
